To make commenting more secure and annoy the spammers...

...we're going to be adding the ReCAPTCHA technology to our site. This asks you to type in words from an image that spambots can't read... and additionally, the words you type are used in helping books elsewhere on the Web become machine-readable.

The reCAPTCHA forms haven't gone in as yet, due to a difficulty with the way it displays in Internet Explorer: but they'll be enabled within the next few days when we solve the problem.
