Seeking German recipe

A friend of mine of German descent describes a dish called "Stip and Poofa." I think it is a meat dish of sorts. Can someone help me with the correct spelling or even the recipe?

The name definitely sounds like a worn-down version of a German word or words. We'll see what we can find.
